The Citizens Portal allows parents/carers of children, to make applications for school places (including in-year admissions), two year old funding and free school meals.

In-Year School Applications

Please ensure you have read our in-year admissions guide before you begin the application process as this will assist you in understanding the process.

If you are applying for a place for September 2025 (For example your child is currently in Year 4 and you wish to apply for a Year 5 place to start in September at a different school, please enter a start date of 31st August 2025 when you are asked for your preferred start date. The Admissions Team will update this once your application is submitted.

Please note that In-Year applications do not have a specific closing date; however, they can take up to 15 school days to process, particularly during busy periods. If you are unable to apply online and require a hard copy of the application form, please call us on 0345 155 1019 or email admissions@devon.gov.uk.

Primary/Infant/Junior School Applications for September 2025

The online application portal for Reception (Primary/Infant Schools) and Year 3 (Junior Schools) admissions in September 2025 is now closed, please contact the My Devon Customer Service Centre on 0345 155 1019 and ask for a paper copy of the form to be sent to you. Applications close on 15 January each year.

Applications for this transfer group are now processed in date order up until 31st August.

Secondary/UTC/Studio School Applications for September 2025

The online application portal for Year 7 admissions in September 2025 is now closed, please contact the My Devon Customer Service Centre on 0345 155 1019 and ask for a paper copy of the form to be sent to you. Applications close on 31 October each year.

Applications for this transfer group are now processed in date order up until 31st August.
