Primary/Infant/Junior Schools

The online application system will go live on the 15th November 2022 to enable you to apply for the new intake for Primary/Infant/Junior schools in September 2023

The closing date is 15 January 2023. You can apply after this date but applications made after this date will be considered late and may be at a disadvantage.

Secondary/UTC/Studio School Applications for September 2023

The online application system to enable you to apply for a place in year 7 for September 2023 is now closed

If you wish to make an application, please email admissions@devon.gov.uk or telephone 0345 1551019 to request a copy of an application form.

Matford Brook Academy in Exeter

This school will open in September 2023 with children starting in year 7 and Reception. As with all new free schools, its opening will be confirmed when the Trust receives a funding agreement from the Department for Education. Until then, it can’t be included in the co-ordinated admissions scheme. The decision is anticipated on or before 1 February 2023.

You should apply for Matford Brook if you want to and apply for other schools. An offer for Matford Brook would be conditional on the school opening. Applying for other schools will make sure there will be an offer you can take up.

You will be asked to apply for up to 4 schools in the usual way so that you only have to complete one form

Applying in this way will make sure that you are not disadvantaged by making an application, whether or not the school opens in September 2023, as we expect.
